Comissioner's Message

The Seventy Third and Seventy-Fourth Amendments to the constitution mark a watershed in the history of democracy in India. It was master stroke to bring democratic processes to the grass root levels and actively involve common people in their functioning.

Madhya Pradesh was one of the first states in the country to enact Panchayat Raj Adhiniyam 1993 and Nagar Palika Nirvachan Adhiniyam - 1994. Since then for general  elections for three tier panchayats and local bodies in the state have taken place. Besides  nearly 2500 elections per annum are also held for posts falling vacant for various reasons. It speaks volumes of the sagacity of the people of Madhya Pradesh that such a massive exercise has been conducted very successfully without any major incident of violence for a period of 20 years.

M.P. State Election Commission's website "SAMPARK" aims at providing all informations about the Commission's structure relevant rules, regulations, notifications and orders, statistical information about  all the elections held so far and about voters, wards and polling booths etc.

We firmly believe that not only the Commission's functioning but also conduct of elections should be absolutely transparent. Constructive suggestions for upgradation and improvement of  "SAMPARK" will always be welcome.
